June 11, 2017 Trinity Sunday
I have no complaints today, only gratitude.
This week’s Prayer for Peace:
Holy One, You are all powerful and yet so personal and intimate. We worship you and follow Jesus’ example and can feel you deep inside, comforting us when we’re sad, guiding us as we make our way through the world. You bring us strength and we are so grateful. Help us to eliminate negativity and the complaints that never solve anything so that we only focus on what is lovely and kind and peaceful. Our lives are gifts and in you we only feel love and gratitude. Amen.
Genesis 1:1-2:4 – Humankind was created as God’s reflection.
Psalm 8 – You have made us barely less than God and crowned us with glory and honor.
2 Corinthians 13:11-13 – May the grace of Jesus and the love of God and the fellowship of the Spirit be with all of you.
Matthew 28:16-20 – Baptize them in the name of God, the Only Begotten, and the Holy Spirit.
Moment for Peace:
Thankfully there isn’t a test. Nor do we have to give a presentation or a reasoned discussion on the meaning of the Trinity. It’s a complicated and at times esoteric and definitely confusing concept. Do we worship one or three? But truly it can be as simple as we let it. We can praise and thank God, Creator of all good things. We follow the inclusive, loving example of Jesus. And we listen to that quiet voice of the Spirit that is always near, gently leading us. God is one and we are triply blessed.
