Sharing Happiness – Part 68

My favorite podcast, “Pop Culture Happy Hour” ends their show with each member saying what made them happy the previous week. The rule is that it must be something anyone could enjoy if they chose (i.e., books, movies, twitter feeds, albums).

JB:  I’m always on the look out for interesting takes on urban design and planning.  This month’s article Cities Aren’t Built for Kids (But they could be) in The Atlantic discusses innovative approaches to minimize traffic and provide more community outdoor spaces for children and their caregivers to play and create community.  Child development is negatively impacted by the restrictions of the physical places in which most live and play.

MB:  We recently got the video game It Takes Two for us to play together.  I found the story to be ridiculous, but the game is fun and engaging.  I still don’t understand why games have “Boss Battles,” but if you’re looking for an interesting, old-school style video game to play with a friend, you might check it out.

EB:  Umbrella Academy, Season 3 is out on Netflix.  I’ve only watched two episodes, but so far, the conflict with the Sparrows seems like it’s going to be very interesting.  The first two seasons are some of my favorite TV.

CB:  Because I’m dyslexic, Wordle is not my game.  However, I am very much into Magic the Gathering.  Commander Codex is a Wordle-inspired Magic the Gathering daily challenge that’s been making me happy.

Bonus Recommendation:  I made this Black Bean Salad for our Fourth of July picnic.  It was so good I brought it to Visitor Sunday at Scout camp this weekend.
