Sharing Happiness – Part 71

My favorite podcast, “Pop Culture Happy Hour” ends their show with each member saying what made them happy the previous week. The rule is that it must be something anyone could enjoy if they chose (i.e., books, movies, twitter feeds, albums).

JB:  Michelle and I have almost finished the first season of Barry, where Bill Hader plays a hit man who decides he’s going to stop being hit man and be an actor instead. Can a hit man without emotion learn to access his emotions to act?  Can a hit man change and have a normal life?  Can he escape, or will his past always follow him?  It’s funny and thoughtful with excellent writing and actors.

MB: Elizabeth and I are watching House of the Dragon, which is good (if you like Game of Thrones-style intrigue and violence). However, I have been listening to the soundtrack which is what’s making me happy. I cannot listen to music with words while I work, and I don’t enjoy classical music or ambient noise playlists, so movie/television soundtracks are my sweet spot. I think the House of the Dragon soundtrack is perfect background music for when you really need to focus.

EB:  In my Local History class, we took a field trip to a Maryville cemetery.  We had to pick a random “resident” and find out everything we could about his or her life.  A resource we used was Family Search which is free and offers a surprisingly good amount of information.  If you have any interest in genealogy, I recommend exploring Family Search to see what you can find.

CB:  Binging with Babish is a YouTube channel where fictional meals and dishes are recreated.  My favorite episode is when he makes LaBombe (i.e., Death by Chocolate Éclair) from the Simpsons.
