Sharing Happiness – Part 73

My favorite podcast, “Pop Culture Happy Hour” ends their show with each member saying what made them happy the previous week. The rule is that it must be something anyone could enjoy if they chose (i.e., books, movies, twitter feeds, albums).

JB:  I loved Willow, the 1988 movie starring Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer.  I’ve been looking forward to the Disney+ TV series based on the movie.  We’ve watched the first two episodes which features several members of the original cast.  The series is set 16 years after the movie, and we get to see how Elora Danan fulfills her destiny.

MB:  Because my son’s a high school senior, what’s making me happy is holiday music concerts.  He’s playing in a winter concert tonight and another one on Monday.  If you’re looking to watch some high schoolers do what they enjoy, his high school brass choir is performing Christmas carols on the Plaza on Friday evening.

EB:  Finals has been extremely stressful this semester.  My favorite break is watching the Instagram account good.boy.ollie.  Ollie is an 8-year-old chocolate lab who lives in the UK.  Every weekend he gets to pick a fun activity from his special jar.  For December, he is doing a fun Christmas thing every day.  So far, he’s watched a Christmas movie, made Christmas cards, and bought his Nanny Biscuits a Christmas present.

CB:  I have recently started assembling and painting a WarHammer 40k army.  WarHammer 40K is a miniature tabletop game where competing armies battle for supremacy.  It’s time consuming and expensive, but also hours of fun.

Bonus Recommendation:  We watched The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. If you want a break from Hallmark movies, but are still looking for something light and fun, it’s delightful.
